RIP Alberto Gonzalez

By historical precedents, the Bush administration is probably only approaching a “slightly elevated” level of second-term scandal related resignations. That said, we couldn’t be happier with the folks who’ve been jumping ship lately, insofar as there’s no chance we’ll miss them. Also, like Rove before him, Gonzalez can still look forward to potential prosecution.

RIP Karl Rove

Dear Karl. We wish you the best of luck and hope you enjoy phenomenal success on the conservative lecture circuit prior to accepting those numerous lucrative board appointments. We ask only that when you occasionally pop into Texas to see your estranged family, please tell them we said hello. In the meantime, let’s not forget that just because you’ve resigned doesn’t mean you’re now immune to prosecution. We’re holding out hope for you yet.

I Did Not Come From No Frickin’ Monkey!

Oh. Wait. Shit. Ummmm….yeah you did. Even the Pope is now admitting that “there is much scientific proof in favor of evolution.” This makes us wonder how many more times religion will bow to unassailable scientific evidence before the whole house of cards comes tumbling down.We’re waiting for the embarrassing day when all those Catholic priests have to admit to the African nation that they’ve been lying about the inefficacy of condoms (more and more).
