An Open Letter to Corporate America and the GOP

“This letter serves as notice of your immediate and compulsory relocation to a separate planet of our choosing…”

The problem with corporations is there is no ceiling to their greed. That is the goal of neo-capitalism… Neverending growth. Even when you are a bloated, hybrid monster. Even when it hurts you and your precious bottom line.

If only there were some way to make republicans and giant corporations live on a separate planet where basing decisions on profit margins and not foresight, common sense, basic rules of cause and effect or compassion, would impact only them.

They would be free to withdraw from however many kyoto treaties, cut trees or drill for oil in any national park, accelerate the extinction of species, encourage poaching, drive (and offer tax incentives to buy) suvs, publish disinformation about hiv and gay people and minorities to their tiny, evil, greedy, callous, illogical heart’s content.

Basically, to do their thing without dragging the rest of us down.

What does it take to convince them that the center for disease control and the environmental protection agency are not on the liberal dole? That scientific findings are not published solely to interfere with their nefarious money-making schemes?

Acid rain spoiling the paint job on their hummer? A nanny/housekeeper strike by immigrant workers? Their own children infected with hiv because they were only taught about abstinence and the deficiencies of condom usage?

It is unconscionable that this administration remains a revisionist, willfully ignorant, dangerous and unbelievably arrogant dictatorship. A mockery of democracy. From iraq to health care to the increasing disparity between the wealthy and impoverished, their dogmatic ideology is costing people their lives.

Dear dick cheney:

This letter serves as notice of your immediate and compulsory relocation to a separate planet of our choosing, as stipulated in mandates signed by both the council of get off our planet you assholes (cgoopya) and the united nations, in conjunction with nasa and the majority of people residing on, or in, the planet earth.

Please arrange for your personal effects to be packed and ready for transport no later than noon on friday, july 23, 2004, at which time an envoy will escort you to the appropriate launch pad.

We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors and hope that you enjoy your new life on another planet.
